On August 4, we celebrated International Clouded Leopard Day 2025 with an exciting awareness program in Dhankuta district, reaching over 45 students and teachers.
The event, hosted at Shubha Prabhat English Boarding School, focused on getting students from grades 3 through 7 interested in saving this elusive wild cat and its forest habitat.
The Day’s Activities:
- Engaging Presentation: We kicked things off with an interactive, visual presentation called “The Forest’s Silent Guardian.” Students learned what makes clouded leopards unique, where they live, why they matter to the ecosystem, and the main threats they face, like habitat loss.
- Creative Face Painting: Students had a blast getting their faces painted with the beautiful patterns of the clouded leopard and other wildlife designs. This was a fun, memorable way to connect them directly to the species.
- Coloring Competition: Fifty-one students enthusiastically took part in a clouded leopard-themed coloring competition. This challenge encouraged them to blend creativity with conservation awareness. Four students were recognized with special prizes for their outstanding artwork!
Why It Matters
The program successfully combined education, creativity, and fun, showing young minds that protecting wildlife starts with learning and caring—even from a young age. Their active participation reflected a strong, early spark of responsibility toward nature.
A big thank you to Shubha Prabhat English Boarding School and our four partners for making this successful event possible!
