Second occupancy workshop

On July 24, 2022, we organized second One-day workshop on occupancy modeling. The workshop was repeated two weeks after the first workshop due to its popular demand.

We trained three participants from zoology, environmental science and forestry backgrounds.

The workshop took place from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Manoj introduced the fundamental concepts and terminologies of occupancy. The focus was single-season single-species occupancy modeling. Next, he explained the methods for collecting data. The participants then prepared the data for analysis. This was followed by data standardization, the fitting of detection, and occupancy models. The last section covered model selection and regression coefficients interpretation. Following insightful discussions and participants’ feedback, the session was formally concluded.
