The Nature Conservation and Study Centre (NCSC), in collaboration with Green Pixel, successfully conducted a four-day Species Distribution Modeling (SDM) workshop from 17 to 20 September, 2024 at NCSC. The workshop was attended by six participants from UKALI, NCSC, and a government conservation agency.
The workshop covered a wide range of topics, including the basics of R programming, linear models, generalized linear models (GLMs), occupancy modeling, Maxent, and other relevant concepts. Participants engaged in numerous hands-on activities to reinforce their learning and gain practical experience.
This workshop provided participants with valuable skills and knowledge to apply SDM techniques in their conservation and research work. By understanding species distribution patterns, participants can better inform conservation strategies and protect biodiversity.
