On March 3 2025, a significant step was taken towards the conservation of the endangered Chinese Pangolin at Panchakanya Forest, Dharan-14. A collaborative initiative in partnership with Dharan Sub-metropolitan Ward Office-14, Research Association Hattisar (RAH), Nepal Student Association of Microbiology (NSAM), Nature Conservation and Study Center (NCSC), Division Forest Office, Sunsari, Panchakanya Sub-division Forest Office, and Central Campus of Technology, saw the installation of an informative board dedicated to raising awareness about pangolin conservation.
The day began with an enthusiastic awareness rally, themed ‘Save Nature by Conserving Pangolins,’ which drew 48 participants from the Central Campus of Technology to Panchakanya Forest. Esteemed guests, including Ward Head Mr. Krishna Bhattarai and Campus Chief Prof. Basanta Kumar Rai, emphasized the importance of community-driven conservation efforts.
Following the formal unveiling of the informative board, participants engaged in a cleanup drive around the Panchakanya Temple, reinforcing the connection between environmental cleanliness and wildlife preservation.
This initiative underscores the power of collective action in safeguarding our natural heritage and protecting the vulnerable Chinese Pangolin. We extend our sincere gratitude to all who participated and contributed to this successful event.
