Call for Applications: Raptor Research and Survey Technique Training Program

We invite passionate learners and conservationists to apply for the Raptor Research and Survey Technique Training Program, a four-day intensive field-based training to be held in Central Campus of Technology (CCT), Dharan, Nepal.

This program aims to strengthen the capacity of early-career researchers, students, and wildlife practitioners in the scientific study and conservation of birds of prey. Participants will gain hands-on experience in raptor identification, survey methods, and ecological research (theoretical and practical classes).

Program Highlights:

  • Field identification of diurnal and nocturnal raptors
  • Raptors research design and data handling 
  • Standard survey and monitoring techniques
  • Morphometric and habitat data collection
  • Capture, handling, tagging and nest camera methods
  • Raptor ecology (Population, movement and migration, breeding, habitat)
  • Threat assessments (electrocution, collisions, poisoning and persecution)
  • Raptor pathology
  • Modern sciences and conservations (stable isotopes, genetics and eDNA)
  • Raptor rescue 
  • Ethical considerations

Who Can Apply:
Undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, birdwatchers, and conservation professionals interested in raptor ecology and field research.

Registration Fee:

  • Students: NPR 3,000/- (VALID ID required)
  • Professionals: NPR 5000/-

Registration fee covers lunch, tea and snacks.  Basic accommodation can be arranged for eligible participants upon request.
