Our World Dhole Day 2025: Here’s What Happened!

In 28 May 2025, we had a fantastic time celebrating World Dhole Day 2025 , focusing on spreading the word about this endangered wild dog. Instead of just one spot, we teamed up with six partners to bring our message to two districts: Saptari and Khotang!

The goal was simple: get students and community members excited about dhole conservation.

In Saptari…

We visited Bright Future Academy School in Fattepur and engaged 58 students from grades 8, 9, and 10. The day was packed with activities:

  • Interactive Presentations: We shared details on dhole biology, their role in the ecosystem, and the threats they face. The students had great questions, leading to some lively Q&A sessions.
  • Creative Fun: Over 50 students got their faces painted with dhole patterns and other wildlife designs. We also hosted a coloring competition, where two winners (Hitesh Chaudhary and Kashish Gupta from Class 10) were rewarded for their creativity.
  • Puzzles: Learning about dholes was made even more fun with interactive puzzles.

In Khotang…

We connected online with 11 students and Eco-Club members from Shree Jalapa Secondary School. Big thanks to Principal Dil Bahadur Rai and English Teacher Hiralal Rai for helping coordinate this session!

The Takeaway

By combining education with fun activities like coloring, face painting, and puzzles, we were able to reach a total of 69 students with our dhole conservation message.

It was a great success, and we hope these efforts inspire the next generation to help protect Nepal’s amazing biodiversity. A huge thank you to all our partners for making this event possible!
